Each day starts with busy fingers. We put 5 different fine motor activities out across the tables for the children to compete when they get to school. It is a great way to settle the children and to prepare for our day of learning.
This week in English we have been reading and recreating parts of the story of The Animals of Farthing Wood.
Our English lessons are done in a carousel style, where each group does a new activity each day, covering all 5 within the week. This also gives each group 3 opportunities each week to work with an adult on a written task.
The children have been retelling the story this week, thinking about story starters and punctuation. Next week we will start to think about how changing one element can change the whole story.
