Year 4 visited St Albans Cathedral this week as part of our Romans topic. We enjoyed a wonderful “Alban and the Romans” trail, in which we learned all about what the city of Verulamium was like in Roman times, and the types of people you might meet in a Roman forum! We got to dress up and role play the story of St Alban, who was persecuted for being a Christian in a time when the Romans worshipped many gods.
In the afternoon we got messy learning about Roman mosaics and creating our own miniature mosaic patterns using clay tiles. We had a fantastic day, and are all excited to learn more about the Romans and their impact on Britain today!
