Year 4 have been given the excellent opportunity of looking after some eggs for 21 days until they hatch into baby chicks. We have the incubator positioned in our classroom by the window to allow natural light and warmth to come through to the eggs. Each child will have the responsibility over the next 21 days of monitoring the water level in the incubator and turning the eggs twice a day. Each egg has been marked with a O or an X so that we know which way to turn it. A lovely Abel Smith parent has provided us with the equipment and has also been in to check on our progress. We have already noticed a big increase in their weight in the last week. We are very excited to monitor how our chicks develop over the next two weeks!
