N: Sing along practising

We are full of Christmas cheer in nursery. We have been practising 3 songs for our Christmas sing along. Below you will find links to youtube clips we have been using to sing along to, we are not singing the whole song, so underneath you will find the lyrics that we have been learning.

We are singing just the first verse, up to sleep in heavenly peace.

‘Silent night, holy night,

All is calm, all is bright,

Round yon virgin mother and child,

Sleep in heavenly peaces, sleep in heavenly peace.’

Again, just the first verse here, finishing on the repeat of jingle bells chorus.

Dashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh,

Over the hills we go, laughing all the way.

Bells in bob tails ring, making spirits bright,

What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight,

Oh jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh hey!

Oh jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,

We are just learning the first part with this song too, the most commonly known verses.

Rudolf the red nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose,

and if you ever saw him, you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer, used to laugh and call him names,

they never let poor Rudolf, join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas eve, Santa came to say,

Rudolf with your nose so bright, wont you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then all the reindeer loved him, and they shouted out with glee,

Rudolf the red nosed reindeer, you’ll go down in history.
