First week in year 2

What a fantastic first week in school! We have loved our wellbeing week, especially our messy art and sports afternoons. We have learnt so much about how to prepare for learning in our mindfulness sessions and we have created our own talk rules and have started to practice using them.

The  children were wonderful at exploring their understanding of mindfulness. We have tried to use listening, breathing and watching skills to help us to bring ourselves back to calm, ready to learn. The children loved their calm bottles and will use these throughout the year when they feel they need to bring themselves back to calm with a little more help.

They showed great teamwork skills throughout our afternoon sessions, which will help us to grow as a class and will help us throughout the year to grow together.

Our dojo scores were so high this week! Keep up the great work Year 2! I am looking forward to a wonderful year!
